Announcement: The deadline for Early Onset Project entries has been extended until October 31, 2008.
Too often, those in greatest need are isolated and lack the energy to seek the help they so desperately require. From the information in Alzheimer’s Anthology of Unconditional Love: Early Onset Dementia, families will know exactly whom to ask for help. The stories will let them know they are not alone and they will have the benefit of others’ experiences. This project encourages a partnership between the Alzheimer’s Association, people with Early Onset Alzheimer’s, and their caregivers.
Purpose
Create awareness of how many Americans have Early Onset Alzheimer’s
Give a face and true story to the disease
Will serve as a “handbook” for caregivers and families
Reduces the feeling of isolation for early stage families
Gives a “voice” to those who have Early Onset Alzheimer’s and a chance to tell their story
Fundraising potential for Local Chapters of the Alzheimer's Association
Distribution Goals
Maintain copies of the book at each chapter office for lending
